Who We Are

Insurance explained in plain terms so every decision is made with confidence.

Most people don’t have an HR department walking them through coverage options. If you’re self-employed, running a small business, or between jobs, figuring out health insurance on your own can feel like guessing with real money. Hudson Health Solutions exists to close the gap. We sit down with individuals, families, and small business owners and explain how different plans actually work — premiums, deductibles, out-of-pocket costs, and the trade-offs between them.

We’re not here to sell you a plan or push you toward a decision. Our job is to lay out what’s available, explain how coverage is structured, and answer the questions you didn’t know you had. You decide what fits. We handle group health plans, individual coverage, life and accident insurance, and supplemental options like dental and vision.

Clinical departments

Group Health Plans

Coverage options for small businesses and employers who want to offer health benefits without a dedicated HR team. We walk through plan structures, contribution models, and carrier options so you understand what you’re offering and what it costs.

Individual & Family Coverage

For individuals between employer plans, self-employed, or aging off a parent’s coverage. We explain marketplace options, short-term plans, and how factors like income, household size, and location affect what’s available to you.

Life & Accident Insurance

Term life, whole life, accidental death — each works differently and covers different scenarios. We break down how these policies are structured so you can figure out whether they make sense for your situation.

Dental, Vision & Supplementals

Supplemental coverage fills gaps that major medical plans don’t touch. We explain how standalone dental, vision, and other supplemental options work alongside your primary coverage — including what they typically cover and where the limits are.

How We Work

We explain your options. You make the decision.

There’s a reason most people feel uneasy about insurance conversations — too often, they turn into sales pitches. Hudson Health Solutions works differently. We start by understanding your situation: what coverage you have now, what’s changing, and what matters to you. Then we walk through what’s out there, explain how each option is structured, and make sure the trade-offs are clear. Lower premiums usually mean higher costs when you use the plan. Higher premiums typically mean less out-of-pocket when you go to the doctor. Neither is inherently better — it depends on your circumstances.

We work with small businesses and individuals navigating coverage on their own. Whether you’re setting up group benefits for the first time, comparing individual plans, or adding supplemental coverage, the process is the same: clear information, zero pressure, and enough time to ask every question you need to.

Common Issues We Can Help You With

Missing enrollment deadlines

Open enrollment windows aren’t always obvious — and if you miss one, your options shrink fast. There are specific times of year when you can enroll in or change your coverage, and qualifying life events that open windows outside of those. The rules vary depending on whether you’re looking at marketplace plans, employer coverage, or supplemental options. If you’re not sure where you stand with deadlines, that’s a good reason to talk it through.

Finding doctors in your network

Having insurance doesn’t help much if your doctor isn’t covered by it. Network structures vary a lot between plans — some give you flexibility to see out-of-network providers at a higher cost, others don’t. Before choosing or switching coverage, it’s worth understanding how the network is set up and what happens if the provider you want isn’t on the list.

Premiums going up every year

Rate increases are common, but that doesn’t mean you’re stuck with them. When your premium goes up, it’s usually worth looking at what changed — sometimes the plan itself shifted, sometimes there are other options in the same tier that didn’t increase as much. The trick is knowing where to look and what you’re comparing.

Losing coverage through an employer

Whether you left a job, got laid off, or your employer dropped their plan, the gap between losing coverage and figuring out what’s next can feel stressful. COBRA is one option, but it’s not always the most cost-effective one. There are usually other paths depending on your situation, income, and timing — it’s just hard to see them all without someone laying them out.

Not getting enough attention from your broker

Some people already have an agent or broker but can’t get a call back when something goes wrong. If you’re paying for coverage and can’t get a straight answer about a claim, a bill, or a plan change, that’s a problem. Insurance doesn’t end at enrollment — there are questions that come up all year. You deserve someone who’s available when they do.
